What does being a student mean? Well in my opinion being a student is being able to listen, learn, and comprehend the knowledge given to you, while also being able to apply it to your everyday life. In Baseball we also have to become students of the game. As we mature and get older, baseball only gets harder, if we learn from a young age the proper and most effective way to throw/hit a baseball we learn certain ques to help ourselves adjust when we are in a slump. Baseball is a game meant for you to fail (Hints why you can succeed 30% of the time and still be considered on the greats). The thing I preach to everyone even college guys, learn from each pitch, and be students of the game. Not only watch film, and look at stats but watch opposing hitters and find something that struggle with, maybe it's fastballs in, or sliders in the dirt, but just find a way to learn something each and everyday. Not only is this something you should do on game day, but even in catch play, or batting practice learn something from each swing/pitch.
